Architect-artist Anita Kulkarni’s creative work spans over two decades, two countries and many idioms like music, dance, painting and literature. An architect by training and profession and also a trained vocalist, Anita sees music in three dimensions, portraying a story through movement. Also a painter in mixed media she has presented her art at art shows. Her prolific work seeks to bring the beauty of Indian arts to World audiences also through spectacular theatrics. Anita’s music-dance stage productions have done extremely well in India and the United States. Her production Panorama was invited to France at a prestigious Indo-French cultural festival during its India run, and her other accomplished projects include Gandhaar and Pancham (Music Appreciation workshops), “Arts of India” in partnership with Taubman Museum of Art in Virginia-USA, “Sangam” – a novel dance-music show with Houston-based artists; and Meet Me on the Meadow, a New Age Kathak ballet that is currently performing in the USA. Anita’s brainchild Renu-The Foundation for Art is a New Jersey-USA based non-profit dedicated to building audiences for arts, and for taking the uplifting Indian arts to global audiences. New Jersey-based Shivani Badgi is a talented and passionate dancer trained in Kathak since age 5 (Guru Padma Khanna, Indianica Academy). She furthered her dance education at Joffrey Ballet School, Mason Gross School of Arts at Rutgers University and Broadway Dance Center diversifying into Ballet and Contemporary, blending tradition from East and West and bringing to stage a lively and revelatory presence. Shivani has presented her dance at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, Warwick Castle and Island Gardens for the American Alliance of Performing Arts London Invitational, Theatre for the New City in NYC, Philadelphia Museum of Art and NBA Halftime Show to name a few. A recipient of awards and notable mentions at signature festivals, Shivani regards dance for being a most beautiful and versatile form of movement for art, fitness, mind and message, performs regularly, and also teaches Kathak at two NJ locations.
